Get started with dog parkour

Kom godt igang med dog parkour

Here is the chance to learn everything you need to get started with your dog, and to be well-versed in the safety considerations you need to remember to take.

Dog parkour is a form of physical training where the dog must move through a series of obstacles.
By training dog parkour, you work with the dog's body awareness and core muscles via balance exercises and obstacles of various types that both strengthen the dog's physique and ensure increased self-confidence.

At the same time, you strengthen the training and cooperation between you and your dog.

Dog parkour can be practiced in all types of environments. It therefore does not matter whether you live in the countryside, near a forest, or in the city center. Dog parkour can be practiced EVERYWHERE, as you simply use what you find in your environment. It can be trees, trash cans, lampposts, benches, large rocks, low half-walls, steps, or something completely different.

Dog parkour has a number of benefits

  • Improves the dog's blood circulation
  • Strengthens the dog's body
  • Gives the dog better self-confidence
  • Can help reduce reactivity
  • It can help teach your dog not to pull on the leash.

About the expert
Anna Louise started her professional career in the dog world in 2012, when she became Denmark's youngest certified dog training instructor at the age of just 13. Through DCH, she then took a specialization in Agility. Since then, she has taken several new educations or participated in courses and seminars within dogs and behavior every year.

Among other things, she has taken a 4-year extended bachelor's degree in animal behavior at the University of Aberdeen in Scotland, and studied a lot about animal anatomy.

Since getting her first dog in 2007, she hasn't had a great passion for competitive obedience, but instead has trained a lot of tricks. This, combined with a passion for agility and different training, led her to Dog Parkour, which she has been training ever since.

She has therefore also written the world's first book about Dog Parkour, which has been sold in over 20 countries.

Now she makes a living teaching and helping others with their dogs' behavior as well as fun training such as dog parkour and body control, tricks and dog dancing, and agility.
