Looking back on a fantastic year

Tilbageblik på et fantastisk år

2018 is rapidly approaching its end.

It's time to look back, time to remember, time to rejoice and time to hope. And when I sit here and look back on 2018, it's with a lot of absolutely fantastic, good, lovely, wonderful dog memories in my bag.

Lucky is 2 years old. He is no longer my favorite puppy. He has become a beautiful, handsome adult dog with charm and self-confidence at its best. With a work drive and an energy that is just perfect.

Him and I have been on an incredible journey of development together in 2018.

This summer we participated in Rally camp. A fantastic camp, with 30 participants from all over the country. It may sound like a small thing to most people, but when you are a somewhat insecure person like me, with low self-confidence and sometimes no faith in your own abilities. It took a lot of courage to sign up alone for a camp where I neither knew the other participants nor the coaches.

But I made it. Together with my rock, my security, my partner, my absolutely perfect Lucky, who manages to turn all the negative thoughts into faith and self-confidence. We made it. Me and Lucky. Lucky and I. And we just had the most amazing weekend in the world.

I have gained the courage to sign up for many more training camps, and overnight trips. Together with my beautiful dogs, I can do EVERYTHING.

2 times club champion

2018 was also the year Lucky got a taste of competitions. We started our first competitions.

And has become club champion twice this year. Lucky is a little bandit on the agility course. So a lot of training awaits before we are ready for the bigger competitions. But the most important thing is that we both have fun, then everything else will probably come one day.

And we have fun.

My little Krudtugle just thinks agility is the most fun thing you can do, and I enjoy working and collaborating with him. I enjoy seeing and feeling how we just move together from time to time.

There are plenty of goals and hopes for 2019.

But the most important thing of all is that my dogs stay healthy and fit, and have fun with the activities we do.

I would like to end this year's last blog post by wishing everyone, both two-legged and four-legged, a fantastically happy New Year.

Take good care of your beloved dogs on this very last day of the year, and for many dogs, the most difficult day of the year.

If you'd like, please feel free to share your best memories of 2018 in the comments.

About the blogger

My name is Mette, I am the happy owner of 2 beautiful dogs.

Balto, who is a 6-year-old Coton de Tulear, and Lucky, who is a Shetland Sheepdog, who is just under 2 years old.

I am super active with my dogs, spending many hours training and on the competition tracks.

As a child I had very bad selective mutism. But thanks to the dogs I have moved on with life and my fear of speaking.
