I'm no expert, but I can tell when a dog is a foodie. My Fjolle is not a foodie. My old dog, Blop, was that way. Even when he went deaf at 10, he could still "hear" when we opened the refrigerator...
Goofy is more of a “play with me dog,” and if you have a treat, “just bring it here.” He likes to do tricks and arts, but doesn’t really always need a treat. It’s “good enough” with words of appreciation and playing with a stick or stuffed animal – or kisses.
“Bring the treat, Mummy, so we can continue playing”, where Blop always thought “more treat, more, more – and more”.
Maybe I just haven't cracked the code to Fjolle's "WISH" yet. I'll keep looking.

If Blop saw something that looked like a treat in my hands, he tried all his tricks (high five, wave, roll, crawl, sit, cover, shame on you etc etc). If Fjolle saw a treat in my hands that he really likes, like raw meat or something, he just went into a COVER, wagging his tail and looking at me; “Can I have that, I’ll be very happy, but if you want it yourself, that’s okay too”. If Blop saw a piece of anything in my hands, he jumped off me, barked and wagged his tail all the way – like “that’s for me, mom, right???”.

So fun to have two such different dogs in my life – so close to me – and deep inside my heart – both of them.
How are your dogs with regard to treats ? Are they foodies?
What treats do you use ? Do you have special treats for special moments?
We do. IN ALL of my jackets (including my dog walking jacket) I have five types of treats;
- everyday treats (which are dried beef lungs from Rigtig hundemad Frb)
- lamb lungs, for when Fjolle on the trip does something absolutely beautiful and extraordinary – for example, contacting me instead of barking at a dog he doesn't like
- small dried chicken pieces, which can be used for small dogs we meet, and for Tjalfe, who Fjolle often accompanies, who is a small 15-year-old Chihuahua. Tjalfe likes the treats to be soft and small – so he gets that.
- dried duck or turkey in small pieces
- just plain good dry food from Rigtig Hundemad Frederiksberg
- Then there is a good, well-assorted selection for my dear little city dog and all his friends in our hood in my "dog jacket depot"; the pockets...

I'm looking forward to hearing if you have a cook at home???

Here are some photos of the treats that Fjolle loves. They are almost all PURCHASED FROM Rigtig Hundemad Frederiksberg (which I am lucky enough to have as a neighbor). So when I mention them it is not advertising, because I pay for Fjolle's treats.

Where do you buy treats for your dogs? Do you make them yourself? One of my friends makes them from chicken hearts and cod roe and something. WAUH… I buy mine…
Behind the week's blog:
We are Fjolle and Ibbe. Fjolle is a PBGV. I am – yes, a person who sometimes wishes that “I was just a dog”. Fjolle is my second dog. My first dog, Blop, was given to me as a gift by my husband when I became seriously ill. Fjolle and I are looking forward to being part of this wonderful BLOG UNIVERSE.
