1 - 2 - 3 many dogs!

1 - 2 - 3 mange hunde!

Life with 3 dogs is a huge pleasure, there is so much joy and energy in life as a dog handler and dog mother. Thanks to the furry ones, I have seen most of Zealand, and met an incredible number of lovely people. When you get to know people through your dog, you can have known people for years, without having seen them in "civilian" clothes or knowing anything about them other than that they love their dog.

Back to the dog menagerie. Up early in the morning and out for a walk in all kinds of weather. The dogs first and me last. What may seem completely unmanageable to others is for me an everyday routine. When I meet people on my way I often get the comment: There is something to keep track of!!

Dogs in flexlines

And yes, there is - but you can easily manage 3 flex lines, as long as you are always ahead of what we encounter on our way. What can be difficult is to take into account the different needs of 3 dogs along the way. One goes slowly, the others quickly, one wants to pee on everyone else's pee tears, one wants to chase birds and one wants to greet the children, etc. It is not always only the dogs that are tired after a long walk :-D

My mom comments on the number of dogs every time we go for a walk together. She has her little dog, who walks nicely next to her. My three go in different directions, each reading their own dog newspaper. And my mom always says: Yes, it's a good thing I only have one dog to keep track of.

But you get used to it quickly and get your routines, which always impress people. Imagine that she has taught them to wait for each other, see they turn around when she whistles, and they jump into the cage all by themselves, etc. This is exactly something that we with several dogs have a handle on, we can't have 3 dogs that just jump off in different directions. They have to learn to wait for their turn, and that takes a lot of training.

Someone dares to ask, do you sometimes think about getting another dog? Yes, I often do – but then I think twice and settle for the ones I have :-D

My dogs follow me in everything I do. They are lying by my side right now and provide moral support for this blog. Every day I look forward to coming home and meeting their wagging tails and wet noses <3<3<3

Behind the scenes of this week's blogger

Ea has 3 female dogs, Honey, 11 years old, Luna, 2 years old and Maggie, 9 weeks old. Her oldest dog is a dachshund mix that she brought home from her time in Greenland. The other two are cocker mixes with duracell batteries. Ea trains Nose Work with all her dogs, it is a fantastic activity/sport. Luna is environmentally trained and socially trained from an early age, as she will hopefully one day be used as a pedagogical "tool".
